Earlier this spring the Faculty Executive Council began discussion on Faculty Association dues for 2002-2003. Council noted that a choice needed to be made about cutting some costs or raising the dues to cover all projected costs for 2002-2003. Council discussed the various options for the dues, including, raising the dues to cover the expenses, eliminating or reducing some of the costs, or doing a little of both. Council learned about various conversations at the different Faculty Senates and discussed the need for further information on services/benefits provided by AAUP, Mike Napier, and Jamieson/Gutierrez. More information was obtained on all three, and Council asked the Faculty Senate Presidents to present the new information for further discussion at the Faculty Senates.
