Seeking to gather information about the support for health care benefits for early retirees, GCC Faculty Senate has asked faculty to respond to a short questionnaire about retiring before 65.  Depending on the response, FEC may elect to pose the question to all faculty.

Some faculty have learned that many school districts, as well as state universities, allow retires to remain in the group.  Whether faculty will decide to retire from the District prior to being eligible for Medicare benefits may affect their decision to retire before 65.

Several points suggest this could be a win-win arrangement both for faculty and the District.  For further information, send a memo to Jim Reed, GCC Senate President or Patricia Hofer, Senator.
