Dr. Gina Kranitz,
New College President
Paradise Valley Community College

From Paradise Valley Community College

On May 9, 2001, it was announced that Dr. Gina Kranitz had been selected to be the President of Paradise Valley Community College.  She had served as the college's interim president since May, 1999.  Dr. Kranitz is truly a MCCD representative: she has had a thirty-two year career with the district beginning in 1969 at Glendale Community College.  Among the roles she fulfilled there was that of Dean of Administrative Services.  Dr. Kranitz has also held posts at the district's central office and at South Mountain Community College, where--during its initial phase--she helped coordinate the construction of the campus and the establishment of the school's fiscal services office, as well as its maintenance, operations, and administrative services functions.  She came to PVCC in 1992 as Dean of Administrative and Student Services. She also supervised the construction of new buildings at PVCC, and still has her hard hat to prove it!

Dr. Kranitz is a leader in strategic planning for the future of PVCC, of the community the college serves, and of MCCD.  She encourages all faculty and staff to take part in planning and decision-making as they focus on PVCC's commitment to being a learning centered college.

Paradise Valley's new President holds a Ph.D. in Education from Nova Southeastern University and a Master's of Education degree from ASU and is active in numerous community and professional organizations.  For the past three years, she has been selected as one of the top ten women in higher education in the state of Arizona by the
Today's Arizona Woman magazine.
