RE-CAREERING ADULTS INVITED TO LEARN MORE ABOUT GATEWAY CC'S POWER PROGRAM AT OCT.5 ORIENTATION POWER

program offers the chance to explore careers, earn credit & learn computer skills often at no cost

PHOENIX, Arizona – In today's economy, many working adults are headed back to school to either train in a completely new field or to learn new skills to put them ahead in their current occupation. To help in this transition, GateWay Community College hosts the POWER Program, a two-course program designed to help re-careering adults explore new career options and learn basic computer skills. The second session of the POWER Program begins Tuesday, October 20, with the option for participants to take either day or evening classes. To learn more about the POWER Program, the public is invited to attend a free orientation and information session from 5-7 p.m., Monday, October 5, at GateWay Community College in room MA2124, 108 N. 40th Street, in Phoenix.

The POWER Program is offered by GateWay's Counseling & Adult Re-Entry Services Department and consists of two college courses: CPD150AC Educational and Career Planning and CIS105 Survey of Computer Information Systems. These two courses are taken together from October 20 – December 17 and are offered in both day and evening formats. The program is a $575 value but is available to the student for no out of pocket cost on the condition that they fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form and show financial need. The four college credits earned can be applicable to other degree programs as well.

For more information on the POWER Program, visit www.gatewaycc.edu/Support/AdultReEntry/ or contact Barbara Grady at grady@gatewaycc.edu or 602-286-8126. Applications are available online or in-person at GateWay.
