PUBLIC INVITED TO OCTOBER 9 DISABILITY AWARENESS JOB FAIR AT GATEWAY CC
GateWay to host inclusive job fair in celebration of National Disability Employment Awareness Month
PHOENIX, Arizona – Since 1988, America has observed National Disability Employment Awareness Month every October to recognize the talents and accomplishments of workers with disabilities. In this spirit, GateWay Community College's Disability Resources & Services Department will be hosting a Disability Awareness Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, October 9, in the main building on the GateWay campus, located at 108 N. 40th Street in Phoenix. The event is free and open to the public.
The job fair will feature local employers in a variety of industries looking to hire a diverse array of workers as well as information about resources for disabled workers and job seekers. The Department of Labor has announced that the official theme for this year's National Disability Employment Awareness Month is Expectation + Opportunity = Full Participation.
"It is intended to urge employers, as they seek to fill positions, to embrace the richness of America's diversity by considering the talents of all workers, including workers with disabilities," cites a recent press release from the U.S. Department of Labor.
