Workshop aims to help jobseekers develop personal marketing plan



Tips on creating a personal marketing plan and communicating value to a potential employer will highlight a free workshop being hosted Monday evening, Oct. 12, in Room 104 of the Student Union at Glendale Community College's (GCC's) main campus at 59th and West Olive avenues.

The event, titled "Module 2: Your Marketing Plan: Resumes, LinkedIn and Other Tools," is co-hosted by GCC and the Southwest Job Network (SJN). Open networking and a resume review are scheduled from 5 to 6 p.m., with the workshop following from 6 to 8 p.m. Attire is business casual.

Participants will assess their skills inventory to clarify the benefits they offer to potential employers. They then will develop a personal marketing strategy and tactical plan for gaining visibility. Emphasis is placed on communicating in spoken, written and online media.

Participants are asked to park in Lot S1 immediately west of the campus entrance at 61st and West Olive avenues. Overflow parking will be accommodated in the S2 lot east of that intersection.
