TGen President Presents "The Future of Personalized Medicine" at CGCC
Michael Bassoff, president of the TGen Foundation, will present "The Future of Personalized Medicine" to Chandler-Gilbert Community College students and community members on Thursday, October 29, 2009, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the CGCC Performing Arts Center.
Bassoff will speak about the cutting-edge work of the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) and the exciting career opportunities in the biomedical field. TGen is a non-profit organization which funds biomedical research of scientists who target new treatments, therapies and cures for diseases such as autism, melanoma, pancreatic cancer, brain tumors and diabetes, and many other cancers and neurological disorders.
This event is free and open to the public and is presented by the CGCC Biomedical Technology Research Program, the CGCC Science Division, and the National Medical Research Foundation. CGCC launched its Biomedical Research Technology program last fall in response to the growing need in the Valley for workers trained in the area of biosciences. Upon completion of this Associate in Applied Science degree, students will be capable of going right to work in cutting-edge biotechnology companies and research labs.
