President - Dorothy Strait. Friday, March 30, is our 2nd Annual PSA Seminar Day. We are planning to have our social event for this year on Saturday, May 5th (paddleboat ride on Saguaro Lake). More information will be sent out soon. Please give Dorothy a call if you would like to help with this event. Dorothy would like to thank those who sent information about Supervisory Training.  The application deadline for the Outstanding PSA Employee award is May 5th.  This is something new we're doing this year and will be awarded at the Summer Conference.  The sign up sheet for future holiday luncheons was passed around.  Dorothy shared the following information from the Diversity Steering Committee. By 2006, 135 Professional Staff will be eligible to retire, and an additional 41 will be 62 or older, but not eligible for retirement. As of March 8th, there were 1,135 Professional Staff, 249 Male, 886 Female, 764 White, 86 Black,

238 Hispanic, 21 Asian, and 20 Indian. There are also an additional 102 Specially Funded and 96 short-term.  Please contact Dorothy if you would like a particular speaker for the next two meetings.  Dorothy has scheduled almost all the units for a visit to discuss the CPD process, share an award the District has won, and let each unit know of the PSA positions that are open for next year. These last two units should be scheduled by the end of the week.

Dorothy would like to share a growing concern she has which has progressed throughout the year.

It seems that the information from the District meeting is not flowing down to all the membership.  Dorothy stated that even though our minutes are comprehensive, they obviously cannot be totally detailed about what actually happens in the meeting. We need to brainstorm this some more and find a way to deal with it

Other Officers.  Wanda Elie-Chair, Nomination/Election Committee. The following positions are open for nominations for 2001-2002. President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, EBAC Representative, EBAC Alternate Representative, FAC Alternate Representative.  We need to have a slate of officers to present at the April meeting.
