306: Emergency Procurement
The Purchasing Manager or designee may make or authorize others
to make emergency procurement of equipment, goods, or services.
This will only be in instances of a true emergency where
there exists a threat to the safety, health, or welfare of
students, staff, or the public. In such instances, price competition
is less important than the quick and safe resolution to the
emergency. The normal quotation process may be waived.
Full back-up materials and justification will be provided
to the Purchasing Department as soon as possible to substantiate
the purchase. This information will be made a part of the file.
