Ron Bergamo Television Scholarship
Ron Bergamo was a native Arizonian, who worked as a general manager for stations in Kansas and Texas before returning to Arizona in 1998 to head up Channel 10. Ron changed the image of the station and the caller to KSAZ for the "Spirt of Arizona".
The Ron Bergamo Television Scholarship was created with the Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation (MCCF) to help future television professionals realize their dreams.
A luncheon & auction event, to create the Ron Bergamo Television Scholarship, in memory of beloved TV executive Ron Bergamo, was held on March 14, 2008, at US Airways Center Pavilion. The event raised over $154,000 for student scholarships of the Maricopa Community Colleges.
