Joseph T. Dean

Mr. Dean recently retired from his Governor-appointed post as the Arizona Small Business Advocate and director of economic development in the Department of Commerce.  His responsibilities included the following departments and programs: Business Connection, Minority/Women-Owned Business Services Program, Finance, Job Training and Workforce Development, Business Development, International Trade, Senior Industries and Film Commission. He also has owned a small business for over 30 years. 

 

Mr. Dean's community involvement includes serving as a member of the board of directors of the Better Business Bureau, the Governor's Small Business Executive Council, member of the Executive Board for the Arizona-Mexico Commission and the Governor's Strategic Partnership for Economic Development High Tech Cluster Board. 

 

Mr. Dean received his bachelor of science in Business Administration and Behavioral Science from Grand Canyon University.  He retired in 1990 after 33 years of service with US West, AT&T and Mountain Bell.
