Michael
Hull is the regional advocate for the Office
of Advocacy within the U.S. Small Business
Administration. The Office of Advocacy is an independent voice within
the federal government that advocates on behalf of small business to the
President, members of Congress, and federal agencies. The Office enforces
the Regulatory Flexibility Act which requires federal agencies to look
at the impact of new regulations on small business before they're put
into effect. In 2002, the Office of Advocacy saved small business $21B
in foregone regulatory compliance costs.
Mr.
Hull worked in international investment banking for 7 years in Japan and
England on structured products desks dealing with over 300 government
and corporate bond issuers around the world. Since returning to Arizona,
he has owned, operated and consulted with numerous small businesses in
Arizona, as well as, being politically active.
He
is on the boards of Thunderbird, the Garvin School of International Management's
Global Entrepreneurship Center and the Arizona Mule Deer Association.
He was an original board member of the Arizona Angels.
An
Arizona native born on the Indian Reservation in Ganado, Arizona, he has
a B.S. in Finance from the University of Arizona and a master's degree
from Thunderbird, the Garvin School of International Management.
