Joy Iris Staveley
Joy
Staveley of Flagstaff is vice president and chief operating officer of
Canyoneers, Inc., The company
operates whitewater rafting trips on the Colorado River through the Grand
Canyon. She is also co-owner and general partner of Kaibab Lodge Limited
Partnership, which owns a 29-unit resort and co-owner/ member of Kaibab
Camper Village, LLC, an 86-unit RV park and tent campground.
Arizona's
Governor appointed Ms. Staveley to the five-member board of the Arizona
State Compensation Fund where she is serving her third term. U.S. Sen.
Jon Kyl named her to the delegation to the last White House Conference
on Small Business. She is a member of the Guardian
Advisory Council and Regulatory Advisory Committee of the National Federation
of Independent Businesses.
A past division of Canyoneers, Grand Canyon Trail Guides, won a national
award from the Take Pride in America Program, a campaign to raise awareness
of the need for wise stewardship of public lands and resources. Ms. Staveley
was the 1997 recipient of
the ATHENA Award, the Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce's honor for business
women. Prior to joining Canyoneers, Ms. Staveley was vice president and
branch manager of Coldwell Banker Escrow for its Beverly Hills, CA branch.
She received her bachelor of arts
degree in English from California State University, Northridge.
