Maricopa Community Colleges

Student Public Policy Forum

Why should I join?

Through your participation in SPPF you will:

  • »Gain confidence and interact with public officials
  • »Communicate effectively in a political context
  • »Effectively advocate for and with your community
  • »Learn the why and how of consensus building
  • »Develop and refine leadership traits

SPPF is also a lot of fun!  You will make new friends from each of the ten Maricopa Community Colleges who share your passion for making a difference.  You will also have the opportunity to network with likeminded students across the country at the National Student Advocacy & Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C.

Who may apply?

No prior experience is necessary to participate. Students from all backgrounds, majors, and experiences are encouraged to apply. We value the unique contribution each student brings to SPPF, and especially appreciate a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and respect for others.

When can I apply?

Space is limited to 20 students and competition grows each year, so you are encouraged to begin your application right away. Completed applications must be submitted to your campus contact person by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29th, 2011.

To find your campus' SPPF representative, use the drop-down menu to the right.
