What is the National Student Advocacy & Leadership Conference?
In March 2010, SPPF students will gather with student-leaders from across the country in Washington, DC to discuss higher education policy and participate in workshops that will prepare them to advocate effectively on behalf of the 12 million students enrolled in community colleges in the United States.

How does this benefit our students?
SPPF students will help develop a list of legislative priority items that all ASACC participants will pursue when they meet with their state's delegation. The legislative priorities are generated, voted on, and advocated for, by our students. For examples of priorities from previous conferences, visit the ASACC Priorities webpage.

Who is behind it?
The National Student Advocacy & Leadership Conference is hosted by the American Student Association of Community Colleges (ASACC), and is attended by thousands of students representing community college districts across the United States.

ASACC Mission Statement
ASACC represents the importance of lifelong learning as the foundation of the nation's social and economic progress. It holds that everyone in America should enjoy educational access and equity according to their ability to benefit, in order that their talents, lives and careers are rewarding to both themselves and society, and that the nation's workforce will continue to excel in global economic competition.
