Role and Purpose:
The Strategic Planning
Advisory Council (SPAC) is the primary body responsible for
coordinating MCCCD's district-wide strategic planning
process with the following purposes:
- Establish and maintain
a collaborative, comprehensive and integrative approach
to strategic planning within the District.
- Establish district-wide
directions, goals and priorities.
- Provide strategic
direction to decision-making at all levels within the
District.
- Serve as an advisory
council to the Chancellor's Executive Council (CEC),
Chancellor and the Governing Board.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a
collaborative, comprehensive and integrative approach to
strategic planning within the District.
- Revisit and/or make
recommendations to revise MCCCD vision, mission and core
values.
- Provide recommendations to
CEC, Chancellor and Governing Board regarding internal and
external strategic issues and/or trends that may impact the
District as a whole.
- Provide recommendations to
CEC, Chancellor and Governing Board regarding emerging
issues and/or challenges that require change in
district-wide directions, goals, priorities, administrative
regulations and/or policies.
- Establish and prioritize
district-wide directions, goals and priorities that support
MCCCD's mission, core values and Governing Board goals.
- Ensure that the
district-wide processes for on-going planning and assessment
are in place and communicated regularly throughout the
district.
- Provide recommendations to
CEC, Chancellor and Governing Board regarding improvements
to strategic directions and/or organizational plans to
ensure district-wide effectiveness.
- Develop recommendations for
allocations of financial resources in line with
district-wide strategic directions.
Reports to:
The Strategic Planning
Advisory Council reports directly to the Chancellor's
Executive Council.
