Governing Board Meeting Date: March 28, 2000 Item Title: Establishment of a Maricopa Strategic Planning Task Force Responsible Agent: Linda Rosenthal/Dr. Raul Cardenas
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended to
the Maricopa Community College Governing Board that
a District-wide Strategic Planning Task Force be
commissioned by this Board with the affirmation of
the following statement:
The Chancellor is charged to convene a Strategic Planning Task Force. The Strategic Planning Task Force will report directly to the Chancellor's Executive Council (CEC) and will be responsible for all phases currently recognized as essential in the development of an organizational strategic plan. These phases include:
A Maricopa Strategic Plan will:
The Chancellor will maintain the authority to assign responsibility for regular review of the resulting Maricopa Strategic Plan, and for the development of future recommendations to amend the Maricopa Strategic Plan as needed. Recommendations for amendment will be presented to the Governing Board for consideration. JUSTIFICATION
A district
wide strategic plan has not been
addressed for several years. A strategic
plan will establish a collaborative
approach to institutional planning while
bringing the various district and
college planning processes into
alignment with each other. In order to
continue establishing a framework for
organizational accountability, it is
appropriate to respond to this need at
the earliest opportunity.
