Adult ACE
Rio Salado offers at-risk, financially disadvantaged and/or first-generation college students the ability to complete their GED and make a smooth transition to higher education through the Adult ACE (Achieving a College Education) program. This scholarship-based college preparation program is for adults, 16-years-of-age or older, and is a service of the ABE Transition Program.
Rio Salado focuses on providing Adult Basic Education, continuing education and lifelong learning opportunities to the communities we serve. Through the Adult ACE program, our goal is to encourage ambitious people to work towards a certificate, an associate degree and beyond. This 18-month program will provide the aptitude, confidence and educational foundation needed to become a college graduate.
Currently, the Adult ACE program is working with over 100 students who are participating in a Rio Salado or partner GED program at six Rio Salado Learning Centers throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area. Students take classes at:
- The Adult Learning Center in central Phoenix
- Ann Ott Adult Learning Center in central Phoenix
- Southwest Learning Center in Avondale
- Tempe High School
- Rio North Learning Center at Paradise Valley Mall
- The Lifelong Learning Center in Surprise.
