Researching Transfer Institutions
Researching Transfer Institutions
When investigating colleges or universities, there are many factors to consider:
- academic programs/majors
- accreditation
- admissions requirements of the institution and program/major
- transfer (articulation) agreements and policy
- public or private
- location
- delivery mode (traditional, online, independent study)
- cost (tuition per credit or per term, fees, other expenses)
- financial aid and transfer scholarships
- enrollment size
- class size
- faculty
- student body
- extracurricular opportunities
- campus life
- housing (on-or-off campus)
- campus safety
- special academic services
- student services
Not all of these issues will be important to every student. Individual interests, circumstances, and priorities should guide your decision. You will want to learn about each institution’s general education requirements, the requirements for your major, and any other degree or certification requirements.
Questions To Ask

- How much time will be needed to complete the program after I transfer?

- How many credits and/or terms will be needed after transfer?
