Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure!
It's that time of year to lace up your walking shoes and put on a pink accessory to show your
support for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure! The Walk will take place on Sunday,
October 12 in the State Capitol District of Phoenix.
There are several event options for participation:
- 1 mile run/walk
- Breast Cancer Survivor's 5K run (registration restricted to breast cancer survivors)
- 5K run
- 5K walk
- Sleep in for the Cure
- 1 Mile Run/Walk; 5K Run; 5K Walk - $25 fee (participant will receive a race t-shirt and bib)
- Breast Cancer Survivor 5K run - $20 (all ages) (participants will receive a race t-shirt, survivor t-shirt and bib - the survivor shirt gives admission to the survivor/co-survivor area on race day)
- Kids for the Cure - $15 fee (participants will receive a race t-shirt and bib) -- Kids Korner is an area for children 12 and under on race day. It is a fun place to show children that it is never too early to begin a healthy lifestyle and to support finding an end to breast cancer. Kids Korner will open at 6:00 a.m. and will be located in the center of Wesley Bolin Plaza.
- Sleep in for the Cure - $25 fee (participants will receive a race t-shirt and bib). If you are not available on race day or just want to stay in bed? Sleep in for the Cure is an official part of the Phoenix Race; register for this option if you cannot attend the Race in person due to church, family, work, or other obligations that keep you away - or if you love the Race but just need to sleep-in! This is a great way to include those friends and family members that live out of state!
Please note: All registration fees listed are for those who register on-line prior to Wednesday, September 17. For those who register from September 18 thru October 11, the fees will be $5 more. On race day the rates will go up another $5.
Please also note that this year, participants will have the option to have your race t-shirts and bibs mailed to you for a $5 fee. If you don't select this option, I will be picking up the shirts on the designated pickup day and will attempt to get them to your college prior to the walk.
