Mentor Program ~ Purpose
Program Goals
- Explore mentees' personal and professional goals and expectations.
- Encourage continued professional development activities, such as advanced degrees and other educational opportunities, training and internships.
- Explore job options and opportunities within Maricopa.
- Enhance personal and job development skills.
- Improve job survival techniques for succeeding in Maricopa.
- Provide a support network through regularly scheduled group activities.
WLG Mentee Expectations:
- Attend orientation session.
- Establish professional development goals.
- Establish mentor program goals.
- Attend monthly Friday sessions.
- Attend graduation.
- Commit to meeting at least one time per month with mentor.
- Maintain confidentiality in the relationship.
- Provide honest feedback.
- Work with mentor in evaluating ongoing progress.
- Complete program evaluations.
WLG Mentor Expectations:
- Attend orientation with mentees
- Attend graduation.
- Commit to meeting at least one time per month with mentee.
- Connect mentee with people and programs in MCCCD related to mentee's goals.
- Provide the time to support the mentoring relationship.
- Help the mentee establish professional development goals.
- Provide honest feedback.
- Work with mentee in evaluating ongoing progress.
- Maintain confidentiality in the relationship.
- Complete program evaluations.
