Mission


The mission of the Maricopa Community College's Women's Leadership Group (WLG) is to provide for the continuous development of a strong and supportive work environment for the diverse women of the Maricopa Community Colleges.

Goals


The following goals are specific to membership.

  1. Provide quarterly professional growth opportunities at existing WLG events during the 08-09 Fiscal Year.  D/A
  2. Develop a comprehensive website which will expand, promote, and support cooperation and collaboration between WLG and other groups by June 30, 2009.  C
  3. Increase our cross-functional events through partnerships with other district groups to further the interest of women during the 08-09 FY.  P
  4. Continue to recognize Maricopa women internally through the college based Women of Distinction awards.  R
  5. Host our three annual main events:  N/R/P/D
    • Holida Gala in December
    • Women of Distinction Luncheon in April
    • End of the Year Event in June
  6. Recruit active Employee and Constituency group participation on the WLG Executive Council.  P/C
  7. Increase membership to 500.  C/P/D
  8. Increase active membership.  C/P/D
  9. Support college reps in their efforts to increase involvement at the college level.  C/P/D
  10. Conduct membership Kick Off Event at each college.  C/N/P/D
  11. Host one activity at each college during Women's History Month (March).  C/N/P/D
  12. Host a welcome event for Jan Gehler at Linda Rosenthal's house.  C/N/P/R
  13. Continue implementation of the WLG Mentor Program.  A/N/P/D
  14. Continue WLG leadership in Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walk.  N/P
