WOMEN HONORED FOR LEADERSHIP, INNOVATION AND SERVICE
Maricopa Community Colleges name “Women of Distinction”

Twelve women from the Maricopa Community Colleges have been named "Women of Distinction" for their leadership and service. The distinguished achievement honor is designed to recognize the contributions of women throughout the district who particularly dedicate service to women and the colleges.

The Women's Leadership Group/American Association of Women in Community Colleges of the Maricopa Community Colleges sponsors the annual event.

The twelve “Women of Distinction” for 2004 and their colleges are:

  • Dr. Maria Harper-Marinick, Director of Learning Instruction & Assessment, District Office
  • Lauren Shellenbarger, Director of Financial Aid, Estrella Mountain Community College
  • Dr. Marie Fenske, Respiratory Therapy Faculty, GateWay Community College
  • Dr. Karen Conzelman, Assistant Chair, Biology Faculty, Glendale Community College
  • Ellen Gallagher, Cluster Coordinator, Maricopa Skill Center
  • Susan Taffer, Program Advisor, Mesa Community College
  • Anne Eller-Albert, Director of Student Leadership, Paradise Valley Community College
  • Dr. Bonnie Petterson, Medical Records Faculty, Phoenix College
