the VAX VMS O/S version, if any change in VMS version is required due
to Y2K then some software products (DAL, ..) used by MIR will require
review.

6. UNIX Systems (Tom Bates)
All MCD DEC UNIX O/S are scheduled to move to version 4.0d

  1. Dist Office DeskTops (Norm Dye/Keli Jones)
Each college and district office is responsible for several Y2K issues. One such area of individual site responsibility is the impact of Y2K on all desktops and servers supported at the site (college or district office) level. Each college is developing their individual Y2K plan as required for their specific needs. The following information outlines the District Office's Y2K Desktop Project Plan milestones and general information.

Anticipated completion date: Nov 30, 1999

The District Y2K team met with the campuses to discuss the District

Plan for addressing Y2K issues as they relate to servers and DeskTops.

The District Office's Server and Desktop plan that was presented are

scheduled to be added to the MCD Y2K Web site. A presentation was

given by Viasoft (a vendor that supplies resource tools). A roundtable

discussion with Y2K issues and observations from each campus was

discussed.

The Apple MAC systems still require further research. Although the

Apple MAC hardware and Operating System is reported as Y2K compliant,

applications and data may require research. One potential vendor for Y2K software on MAC has been located on web at http://www.peda.com/y2ksa/
