Eligible job seekers, dislocated workers, displaced homemakers, youth, veterans, and disabled individuals can qualify for Local Workforce Investment Board (LWIB) approved non-credit training. Funding for this training may be provided through Maricopa Workforce Connections and City of Phoenix One Stops.
The Continuing Education Department and Center for Workforce Development at Chandler-Gilbert Community College in the Southeast Valley works closely with the community to offer courses and programs that serve their needs. CGCC offers online classes, special interest courses for students of all ages, and customized training courses and programs for business and industry. The Sun Lakes Center provides connection to resources, education and services for mature adults. The Center provides classes in addition to supporting a membership organization for lifelong learners.
Estrella Mountain Community College in the Southwest Valley provides accessible and flexible education programs to the community. It also serves the community of Surprise through its offsite program at Willow Canyon High School. Workforce development efforts provide custom training and education programs to meet the needs of business and industry.
GateWay Community College is known for its strength in developing and supporting training partnerships. The College is dedicated to providing customized training while playing a key role in the economic and workforce development of the region it serves. Areas of expertise include business, leadership/supervision, information technology, industrial technology and ESL/Spanish.
The Institute for Business, Industry and Technology at GCC offers customized workplace development and training.
Mesa Community College has the Center for Community Education. Personal interest courses, multigenerational programs, including a learning in retirement organization, and training for informational technology professionals and knowledge workers are offered at two campuses and three extended college sites.
Serving North Phoenix, Cave Creek, Carefree and Paradise Valley, with a variety of personal enrichment, professional development, online, fitness and multigenerational programs is the Division of Continuing Education at Paradise Valley Community College. In addition, PVCC supports area employers by providing education and training opportunities for employees at employer facilities.
The Custom Training & Education Division of Phoenix College in central Phoenix provides community business and industry with a variety of courses including soft skills and cultural diversity workshops. Classes are customized to meet the needs of our business and industry partners with the option of onsite delivery. CTE also provides a wide selection of online courses and a lifelong learning series program.
Rio Salado College has numerous locations throughout the Valley, and is a leader in adult basic education and multigenerational programs including the Rio Institute for Senior Education (RISE) Learning for Life organization located in the Sun Cities area.
South Mountain Community College serves the South Mountain and Laveen Villages, and the communities within Ahwatukee by providing programs for lifelong learning. Free and low-cost non-credit classes and seminars are offered including personal interest and workforce development programs.
