Kubernetes Security
The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Kubernetes Security provides students the knowledge and skills to perform a broad range of best practices for securing container-based applications and Kubernetes platforms during build, deployment and runtime. This program helps prepare students for the Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) certification exam. Industry professionals in the field of information technology security will benefit from adding a specialization in Kubernetes security to their skill sets.

This program is not eligible for Title IV Federal Financial Aid.
Students must earn a grade of C or better in all courses within the program.
This pathway map will help you gain the expertise needed to:
- Setup Kubernetes Cluster using security policies and best practices.
- Restrict access to Kubernetes API through Cluster Hardening.
- Perform overall system hardening using appropriate tools.
- Manage microservice vulnerabilities using OS level security best practices.
- Use analysis to scan for known vulnerabilities and secure the supply chain.
- Perform analysis to detect and mitigate known and unknown threats.

- Initial course placement is determined by current district placement measures and/or completion of 100-200 level course and/or program requirements.
- Degree and transfer seeking students may be required to successfully complete a MCCCD First Year Experience Course (FYE) within the first two semesters at a MCCCD College.
