" Although the nursing professors were tough, they were kind and always willing to meet with students and help in any way possible. It was obvious that they were invested in the success of their students! "
Our West Valley roots
We know the West Valley. In GCC’s 50-plus years, our academic programs have evolved as the West Valley’s population has shifted away from agriculture to service and high-tech. From nursing to fire science safety to biotechnology, GCC understands the pulse of the local economy and provides students with exciting career paths and local business, industry, and government partnerships.
" I feel that being involved on campus at GCC benefits me with school and my skills. Not only does my involvement benefit me, but the people I come across too. "
Arts and culture
Indulge in the creative arts without ever leaving campus. From dance, theatre, and music performances, to permanent art installations on the grounds in the library, GCC has a history of artistic distinction. Our arts and culture scene may even pique your interest to try an art class or explore a performing arts, music business, or audio production degree.
" The dance program at GCC gave me the confidence to say "I can do this"... The dance instructors are a resource and with their kindness and generosity, they help you grow into a skilled dancer. "
GCC students have graduated with two-year degrees, transferred to a university, completed career training, or finished an occupational certificate.
Of our students (at a minimum) are Hispanic, earning GCC a designation as a Hispanic-Serving Institution.
