That’s why we offer career planning, ESL support, and financial aid. Plus, as a Strengths-Based Institution, we help students first determine their own personal strengths, and then strategize with them to maximize those strengths in their academic and career choices.

Experience the arts
Don’t miss your time to shine and experience performing and visual arts at SMCC. Our students express themselves with instrumental or vocal music, dance, theatre, and the visual arts, including drawing, sculpting, and painting. Plus, SMCC’s Storytelling Institute helps students tap their imagination, discover their voice, and find their own personal style.
" I have been in the performing arts for 3 years and play the trumpet. My major is business but it has been a joy to play in the Community Jazz Band and the Jazz Band here at SMCC while I complete my degree. "

SMCC Cougar athletes compete at the national level, and many go on to participate at the four-year level — plus, they receive academic support so they can succeed on and off the field (or court).
" SMCC Athletics created a sense of community. It can be scary being a freshman. The freshman experience was less intimidating due to the fact that I was already able to meet 20 other athletes in the same situation. "
