Serving students with disabilities
We at Maricopa Community Colleges support the rights of students with disabilities to obtain an education. We work hard to provide disabled students with necessary accommodations in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) – our goal is to facilitate learning and access to the necessary and helpful resources for students.
Disability Resource and Services (DRS) at the colleges provide assistance with...
- Testing accommodations
- Alternate, or alternative, textbook formats (audio, digital, Braille)
- Auxiliary Services (CCTV, FM System)
- Note-taking assistance
- American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters
- Hardware and software
Additional amenities and services are available, such as accessible computing hosted by campus libraries and technology centers.

Each student’s accommodations are determined on a case-by-case basis. If you're a new student, you can apply through the online portal of our Disability Resource Center for assistance with ADA-compliant disability resources. For caretakers, you can also apply to be a notetaker in the online portal.
