Project Information

Is your Proposed Project Location at more than one site at Maricopa Community Colleges?
Proposed Project Location(s)
If you are requesting authorization from multiple sites at Maricopa Community Colleges, you must provide a clear justification for that request. Your justification should explain why participation from each site is necessary for the study design, recruitment plan, target population, or data collection needs.
Note: If more than five sites are requested, processing site authorization may take an additional one to two weeks.
Provide a concise summary of your project that includes the research objective, a brief description of participant involvement (activities and time commitment), and the anticipated value or contribution of the study.

Describe how the research will be conducted. Include

  1. Who the participants will be and any relevant characteristics;
  2. How participants will be identified and recruited;
  3. What participants will do and where the activities will take place; and
  4. What data will be collected, how it will be collected, and how it will be used.
Describe the potential benefits of the research for the college(s) or District, such as insights gained, collaborations formed, or improvements informed by the study.
Describe how the findings will be used, shared, or published. Include whether results may appear in academic presentations, reports, or publications.
V. Relationship

Indicate your relationship to the Maricopa Community Colleges (select one), and briefly describe your connection to the college or District.

District Employee Researchers
If you are a Maricopa Community Colleges employee conducting research outside your official work duties, you may not use institutional data, distribution lists, communication platforms, or access available through your employment role, unless specifically authorized for the study. Recruitment and data collection must occur through approved institutional channels, and research activities must be conducted outside official working hours.

VI. Resources
Check all District resources your project will require and briefly explain how they will be used. This may include personnel time, facilities, or access to data.

I confirm that the information provided is accurate and complete. I understand that site authorization is separate from IRB approval, and that neither obligates the college or District to participate in the project, provide resources, assist with recruitment, or support data collection. I also understand that if the IRB does not approve the study, I may not proceed but may revise and resubmit the proposal for review.
