The Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) has released its Truth and Taxation information for the fiscal year 2024-25 budget, which will be published in the Arizona Republic on May 13 and May 20, 2024.

In compliance with 15-1461.01, Arizona Revised Statutes, the Maricopa County Community College District is notifying its property taxpayers of Maricopa County Community College District's intention to raise its primary property taxes over last year's level. The Maricopa County Community College District is proposing an increase in primary property taxes of $5,685,857 or 0.96%.

For example, the proposed tax increase will cause Maricopa County Community College District's primary property taxes on a $100,000 home to be $104.86 (total proposed taxes including the tax increase). Without the proposed tax increase, the total taxes that would be owed on a $100,000 home would have been $103.86.

This proposed increase is exclusive of increased primary property taxes received from new construction. The increase is also exclusive of any changes that may occur from property tax levies for voter-approved bonded indebtedness or budget and tax overrides.

Property tax revenues provide funding to meet a wide variety of needs, allowing the Maricopa Community College District to better serve students and the community. With approval of this item, the total tax levy increase of $5,685,857 will be dedicated to fund the capital needs of the system in accordance with the Resolution approved by the Governing Board on May 25, 2021.

The Public Hearing and Special Session are open to community members and the general public.
