Navigating the college experience can be challenging, but with HSI EXCELlence, you are not alone. Maricopa Community Colleges' staff is here to help you every step of the way. You can contact the HSI team directly at 480-731-8874.

HSI EXCELlence offers the opportunity for Latino/a students to have additional guidance and support at six Maricopa Community Colleges Hispanic Serving Institutions while working towards earning a certificate to go straight to work or transferring to a four-year university.

The ultimate goal of HSI EXCELlence is to ensure you have the resources and guidance to persist in college semester after semester until you achieve your goals!

Application Requirements

To be accepted into HSI EXCELlence, you must:

  • Be enrolled at one of the following colleges: Estrella Mountain, GateWay, Glendale, Mesa, Phoenix, or South Mountain Community College
  • Submit an HSI EXCELlence program application
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) *strongly encouraged
  • Commit to the program until you have completed a certificate, degree, or transferred to a university
