What You'll Learn
This pathway map will help you gain the expertise needed to:
- Perform various types of welding beads on various joints in position and out of position, and analyze welding quality as it relates to inspection and quality control.
- Apply theory, practice, set-up and operation of all types of machines concerning TIG, MIG, and sub-arc welding with emphasis on tungsten inert gas and wire feed.
- Perform all "out of position" welding tasks in preparation for certification test, and perform American Welding Society (A.W.S.) test in vertical and overhead positions.

Course Sequence by Term
The following is the suggested course sequence by term. Please keep in mind:

- Initial course placement is determined by current district placement measures and/or completion of 100-200 level course and/or program requirements.
- Degree and transfer seeking students may be required to successfully complete a MCCCD First Year Experience Course (FYE) within the first two semesters at a MCCCD College.
