Forensic Science
The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Forensic Science is designed to provide students with the technical skills and knowledge necessary to evaluate and process a crime scene for items of evidentiary value, document crime scene evidence, and collect and retain items consistent with forensic procedures.
Details
Students must earn a grade of C or better in all courses within the program.
- Adhere to the general rules governing admissibility of evidence, including the exceptions and privileges.
- Demonstrate the appropriate techniques to identify, interpret and classify fingerprints and explain the problems associated with the development of latent prints.
- Collect and preserve physical evidence.
- Photograph basic accident and crime scenes and specific items of evidence using appropriate photographic techniques.
- Demonstrate the appropriate steps to be undertaken during the investigation of specific crimes.
