Law Enforcement Field Training
The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Law Enforcement Field Training program is designed to provide law enforcement officers with up-to-date industry-specific training that will enhance their professional opportunities. Courses will provide students with opportunities for practical application of skills in the areas of traffic stops, field interviews, arrests, and bookings. Procedures for investigations and interrogations in addition to effective report writing and field communication skills will also be covered.
Details
This program is offered through an educational partnership. Employment by the partnership organization is required for admission.
This program is not eligible for Title IV Federal Financial Aid.
Students must earn a grade of C or better in all courses within the program.
- Conform to all standards of the Field Training Program.
- Correctly issue a citation to the offender.
- Complete citations and complete necessary paperwork.
- Assess safety issues during an investigation.
- Complete field interview cards.
- Demonstrate proficiency in radio and mobile data terminal (MDT) use.
- Demonstrate effective field communications.
- Demonstrate effective control of conflict.
- Use standard police equipment effectively.
- Demonstrate effective report writing.
- Complete hours at the Callback desk.
- Complete arrests of driving under the influence suspects.
- Complete accident investigations.
- Demonstrate proper safety considerations.
- Complete field investigations.
- Evaluate suspicious activity and determine if a crime has been committed.
- Conduct an investigation of criminal activity.
