Law Enforcement Training
The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Law Enforcement Training is designed to provide students with up-to-date industry specific training that will enhance their professional opportunities. Courses are also designed to teach students how to handle the challenges of the law enforcement profession. A Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Law Enforcement Training Academy is also available.
Details
Must meet AZPOST minimum requirements for a law enforcement officer and meet any physical requirements by the Academy Director.
Students must earn a grade of C or better in all courses within the program.
This program replaces: AAS/3385 Law Enforcement Technology
- Practice professional standards of policing.
- Apply the principles and processes of law and legal matters to policing.
- Apply principles of patrol procedures to maintain best practices of contemporary policing.
- Demonstrate proficiency in conducting practical investigations in traffic collisions, traffic direction, and impaired driver cases.
- Apply principles of law and best practices to criminal investigations and crime scene management.
- Collaborate with others to establish shared vision and effective relationships.
- Engage in appropriate interactions.
- Apply aspects of mental and physical conditioning for personal safety in law enforcement activities.
- Synthesize relevant sources of information to prepare comprehensive police reports.
- Demonstrate the police proficiency skills that meet the standards set forth by the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board.
- Communicate orally, visually and in writing precisely, appropriately, and effectively to varied audiences.
