Public Safety Technology
The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Public Safety Technology program is designed to provide participants with up-to-date industry-specific training that will enhance their professional opportunities. In addition, it is designed to provide the metropolitan Phoenix area with a staff of law enforcement professionals capable of handling the challenges of their profession.
Details
This program is offered through an educational partnership. Employment by the partnership organization is required for admission.
Must be a law enforcement officer and have departmental approval.
This program is not eligible for Title IV Federal Financial Aid.
Students must earn a grade of C or better in all courses within the program.
- Practice professional standards of policing.
- Apply the principles and processes of law and legal matters to policing.
- Apply principles of patrol procedures to maintain best practices of contemporary policing.
- Apply principles of law and best practices to criminal investigations and critical incidents.
- Engage in appropriate interactions.
- Demonstrate the police proficiency skills that meet the standards set forth by the Department of Public Safety and the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board.
- Demonstrate proficiency in conducting practical investigations in traffic collisions, traffic direction, and impaired driver cases.
- Communicate orally, visually and in writing precisely, appropriately, and effectively to varied audiences.
- Synthesize relevant sources of information to prepare comprehensive police reports.
