Airline Operations
The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Airline Operations program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to specialize in specific areas of airline operations while still meeting the rigid Federal Aviation Administration requirements. Students may choose to specialize in the area of Reservations and Ticketing Services.
Details
This program is offered through an educational partnership. Employment by the partnership organization is required for admission.
Students must earn a grade of C or better in all courses within the program.

- Summarize reservations and ticketing procedures.
- Use a computerized reservations system.
- Summarize procedures for handling special requests and seat assignments.
- Explain various fare rules and procedures for pricing and selling fares.
- Create, price and change itineraries/flights for airline passengers.
- Use various booking codes.
- Demonstrate ability to complete and retrieve a Passenger Name Record (PNR).
- Summarize privacy act and procedures on when to release passenger information.

The following is the suggested course sequence by term. Please keep in mind:

- The course sequence is laid out by suggested term and may be affected when students enter the program at different times of the year.
- Initial course placement is determined by current district placement measures and/or completion of 100-200 level course and/or program requirements.
- Degree and transfer seeking students may be required to successfully complete a MCCCD First Year Experience Course (FYE) within the first two semesters at a MCCCD College. Courses include FYE101 and FYE103. Course offerings will vary by college. See an academic, program, or faculty advisor for details.
