Credit Counseling: Customer Service
The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Credit Counseling: Customer Service program is designed to provide students with the training required for employment in the credit counseling industry. Courses will cover types of bankruptcies, types of credit and types of account liabilities as well as legal issues and laws governing the credit industry. The training will also focus on customer service, customer account evaluations and account maintenance.
Details
This program is offered through an educational partnership. Employment by the partnership organization is required for admission.
This program is not eligible for Title IV Federal Financial Aid.
Students must earn a grade of C or better in all courses within the program.
- Explain basic customer service principles for credit counselors.
- Summarize the importance and benefits of a credit-counseling program.
- Summarize credit industry laws.
- Explain the purpose of the Fair Isaac Company (FICO) credit score and the factors used when determining the score.
- Identify various credit industry elements including types of bankruptcies, types of credit, types of account liability, credit ratings, and payment histories.
- Evaluate customer accounts.
- Process correspondence from clients in a timely and effective manner.
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain a customer's account.
- Identify and explain information found on various screens of a credit counseling computer system.
- Explain basic customer service principles for credit counselors.
- Summarize the importance and benefits of a credit-counseling program.
- Summarize credit industry laws.
- Explain the purpose of the Fair Isaac Company (FICO) credit score and the factors used when determining the score.
- Identify various credit industry elements including types of bankruptcies, types of credit, types of account liability, credit ratings, and payment histories.
- Summarize information found on various account screens including customer information and financial management tabs.
- Create an account for a new customer.
- Explain account maintenance, creditor policy, and budget review procedures.
- Differentiate between types of financial resource identification.
