Chancellor’s Civic Leadership Medallion
Up your civic engagement while working toward a Chancellor’s Civic Leadership Medallion. Designed to recognize civic accomplishments and leadership, the medallion can be earned through participation in various civic activities, such as attending public meetings, moderating public forums or working a city or state election.
Student Public Policy Forum
Open to students of all backgrounds and majors, the Student Public Policy Forum (SPPF) provides a unique overview of local, state and national public policy work, and gives you opportunities to become an educated and involved citizen. Plus, you’ll have a chance to travel to Washington, D.C.!
Maricopa Student Senate (MSS)
The Maricopa Student Senate (MSS) is a student representative body of Maricopa Community Colleges composed of one senator from each of the 10 colleges. The MSS advocates for the common interests of all Maricopa Community Colleges students, sharing achievements and concerns with their fellow students, the Governing Board, Chancellor, colleges, administrators, and the community.
National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS)
The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) program helps students identify career goals, hone their leadership skills, and turn ambitions into action. This program provides a life-changing experience—giving you access to essential tools to excel in your future and make a change in the world. As a member of the NSLS, you're part of a community of goal-oriented people with access to professional leadership training, exclusive scholarships, an online job bank, networking events, a celebrity speaker series, enhancement of your professional resume, and more.
Phi Theta Kappa
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is the international honor society of two-year colleges. It is the largest honor society in American higher education, with more than 2 million members and 1,200 chapters located in all 50 states and abroad. The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize and encourage excellence in academics, while also promoting leadership, service, and fellowship. Maricopa has 10 Chapters.
