Vice Chancellor of Workforce and Economic Development
Valerie Jones is the Vice Chancellor for Workforce and Economic Development for the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD). Prior to joining the system, Ms. Jones served as a Talent Executive for Bank of America (BofA), where she supported initiatives tied to the financial services industry. During her time at BofA, Ms. Jones served as a Leader on Loan, supporting MCCCD’s workforce and economic development initiatives through partnership building, program and internship growth, and leveraging opportunities in the finance sector.
Ms. Jones brings more than 25 years of varied experience across the human resources, finance, and workforce development sectors. Her passion for talent acquisition led her to serve on BofA’s Hispanic Executive Leadership Council. Additionally, she was a co-chair for Arizona’s HOLA – Hispanic Employee Network Chapter.
Ms. Jones holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication with a minor in business and a master’s degree in business administration, both from Arizona State University. Passionate about connecting job seekers to their first careers, Ms. Jones is committed to student success. A native Arizonan, Ms. Jones grew up in the small mining town of Bisbee.
