What Are Community Education Programs?
Maricopa Community Colleges is dedicated to giving back to the communities we serve and enhancing quality of life for the public. As part of this mission, we offer community education programs in Service Learning, Lifelong Learning, Workshops, and Incarcerated Re-Entry.
These programs encompass community learning, personal development, and professional development opportunities, ensuring that all learners have access to quality education.
Specific offerings include the Kid's College program, access to health and wellness facilities, free or affordable public events—like astronomy nights, sports games, and performing arts exhibitions—plus a nearly endless amount of flexible, non-credit courses.

Service Learning
Service Learning at Maricopa Community Colleges integrates community service with academic learning, providing you with practical, hands-on experiences that extend education beyond the classroom. This approach fosters civic responsibility and enhances problem-solving skills by allowing you to use newly-acquired skills and knowledge in real-world situations.

Lifelong Learning
Maricopa Community Colleges offers numerous lifelong learning opportunities, including continuing education, workforce development, community education, non-credit courses, and generational programs, with residents aged 65 and older qualifying for a tuition discount. Additionally, many community members enjoy the use of on-campus fitness centers at an affordable price, as well as one-off fitness classes.

Workshops
For those seeking to build skills and experience with options for further learning, we offer many workshops that are designed to enhance your personal and professional growth through customized training, seminars, and hands-on activities. Additionally, workforce initiatives with Maricopa Community Colleges offer Career Services, job readiness workshops, resume preparation, and information on financial aid and unemployment insurance.

Incarcerated Re-Entry
Maricopa Community Colleges' Incarcerated Re-Entry programs equip incarcerated individuals with essential skills for successful community reintegration. Courses focus on job readiness, family reunification, personal development, and substance abuse education, delivered through on-site and distance learning courses.
