Incarcerated Re-entry

Toward a Brighter Future

Many Maricopa Community Colleges students are moving toward a brighter future with incarcerated and community re-entry programs.

In 1983, Rio Salado College partnered with the Arizona Department of Corrections to offer occupational and educational programs, as well as Workforce Development training opportunities, for incarcerated men and women in and outside the state of Arizona.

The programs are designed to provide the incarcerated population with the skills necessary to effectively transition to the community. Courses focus on readiness, preparation, and retention skills for jobs, plus family reunification, personal and social skills development, and substance abuse education.

Courses are both onsite and offered as distance learning classes.
